Albuquerque Actos® Lawsuits
Actos® (Pioglitazone Hydrochloride) is a medication manufactured by Takeda Pharmaceuticals and is taken by diabetic patients. The active ingredient in Actos® is called Pioglitazone and is also sold in combination with the diabetic drug Metformin (Actoplus Met®, Actoplus Met XR® and Glimepiride (Duetact®). The FDA warned patients to seek medical attention if they experience symptoms such as: blood in urine; pain in the lower side of back; non-stop sudden urge to urinate; or no urge to urinate. There is a 40% risk in patients of getting bladder cancer who have taken Actos® compared to those who have not.
Many other possible common side effects of Actos® include: headache; sinus infections; bloating or swollen limbs; upper respiratory infections; trouble breathing; low blood sugar; rapid weight gain; tooth problems; muscle pain; sore throat; and vision changes.
