Gardasil® vaccine is manufactured by Merck and Company Inc., and prescribed to young girls and women ages nine to 26 with the promise of preventing Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and diseases caused by HPV. Gardasil® is supplied to young women by a vaccination shot three times over a six month period of time. Such diseases that cause HPV are: genital warts; cervical cancer; vulvar cancer; and vaginal cancer.
