Prozac® is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant medication manufactured by Lilly. Prozac® is prescribed for the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic attacks, postpartum depression (PPD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). As with many SSRI drugs, it has been linked to a higher risk of suicide in those who take this medication.
